CU I&E Awards: Submissions Coming In! [1]

February 16, 2026

During the past two weeks, we've been excited to see a number of submissions coming in to the 2026 CU Innovation & Efficiency (CU I&E) Awards [2] Program. Today we'll highlight the first submission of the year: Redesigned Research Studies Website Boosts Access and Engagement.

Ben Echalier, Megan Lane, and Kiley Vander Wyst knew that clinical trial recruitment websites can be powerful tools when they incorporate intentional design, strong content, and centralized management. CU Anschutz had managed a recruitment website since 2020. However, 60% of the campus's study teams having a webpage on that site were still failing to meet their recruitment goals

In their redesigned recruitment website, the team substantially boosted keyword search ability, improved readability/language requirements, added an autocomplete feature, and developed functionality to search by a variety of categories.

You can read their story [3] here.

  • Learn how their inspiration to make clinical research more accessible to the community has resulted in increased study engagement.
  • And be sure to check out their great attachment providing visuals of the new and old recruitment websites.

We'd love to hear your story!

Share the news on your own successful projects to save time, money, and hassles. Our submission form is open [4] through March 31, 2026.
