Effective January 1, 2026, flight segments for extended foreign business travel of more than 8 hours continuous flight time are eligible for upgraded fare class, under the revised exceptions list in the PSC Procedural Statement Travel [3]. For travelers with flight segments meeting this new criterion (or any other exception criteria also listed in the policy), the department is responsible for granting approval prior to the ticket being issued and retaining related documentation in the department in case of future audit or other review.
