CU Regent Sue Sharkey, CU President Mark Kennedy, and CU First Lady Debbie Kennedy met with Colonel Devin Pepper [3], Commander of the Buckley Garrison, and Chief Master Sergeant Robert Devall [4] at Buckley Air Force Base (AFB) [5]. The visit centered on CU’s space-based research and workforce development, as well as programs for veterans, active duty personnel and their dependents offered across the university system.
The Buckley Garrison [6] at Buckley AFB is a Space Force unit [7] that serves Active Duty, National Guard, Reserve, and retired personnel throughout the Front Range. The Garrrison provides installation support functions for the resident air operations, space-based missile warning capabilities, space surveillance operations, and space communications missions.
