Surviving spouses and dependentDependentAn employee’s spouse, common-law spouse, civil union partner, domestic partner, children under the age of 27, and qualifying disabled children over age 27 of the employee or of the spouse/partner who are biological, legally adopted or for whom there are parental responsibility documents issued by a court. children of PERA members should contact PERA at 1-800-759-7372 to discuss their health care options, since they are not eligible for CU benefits. CU 401(a) members
CU provides medical and dental benefits for the surviving spouses (including common-law, civil union or domesic partners) and dependentDependentAn employee’s spouse, common-law spouse, civil union partner, domestic partner, children under the age of 27, and qualifying disabled children over age 27 of the employee or of the spouse/partner who are biological, legally adopted or for whom there are parental responsibility documents issued by a court. children of active or retired Faculty or University Staff members who participated in the CU 401(a) Retirement Plan.
Coverage will continue if you and your dependent(s)DependentAn employee’s spouse, common-law spouse, civil union partner, domestic partner, children under the age of 27, and qualifying disabled children over age 27 of the employee or of the spouse/partner who are biological, legally adopted or for whom there are parental responsibility documents issued by a court. were covered by CU's health plans at the time of the employee’s or retiree’s death.
