New OUC Knowledge Management System: Get Answers to Your Tax Questions – Faster [1]
April 15, 2026
April 15 is Tax Day — and a reminder that tax questions can slow down your work at any point in the year. Whether you're making a purchase, responding to a vendor request, or navigating exemptions, getting the right answer quickly matters.
To make that easier, the OUC is launching a new knowledge management system designed to help you quickly find clear, reliable answers — so you can move forward with confidence.
How this helps you
If you’ve ever had to track down a tax answer, you’re not alone. Each year, our team receives hundreds of questions from departments across CU, including:
- Where to find the State of Colorado certificate of exemption
- What documentation is required for Home Rule Cities
- What to do when tax is applied to a Procurement Card purchase
- How tax exemption works outside the State of Colorado
Our new knowledge management system will bring this information together in one place — so you can spend less time searching, avoid delays, and get your work done with fewer back-and-forth emails.
Help shape this resource (and enter to win a coffee card!)
We’re building this resource with you in mind, and your input will directly influence what’s included under tax and other topics. We invite you to share your top tax question(s):
- Submit your question(s) to Learning Design Program Director Kristina Mendez at FSS@cu.edu [2]
- Submit by end of day Monday, April 20
- You’ll be entered into a drawing for a coffee gift card
We’ll announce the winners in next week’s newsletter.
What to expect
As the knowledge management system develops, you can expect more updates — and more tools and resources designed to simplify your day-to-day work.
