CU System Administration's RAVE alert system sends important, time-sensitive notifications, including Open Enrollment reminders, UIS maintenance and outage alerts, and, for CU System Administration employees, building emergencies and weather closures.

Some of these alerts go out automatically by email, but text alerts require a quick sign-up through the RAVE webform [3]. Here's a breakdown of what's available and who it's for.

UIS maintenance and outage alerts

Who this is for: Employees at any CU campus

Sign up for email and/or text alerts about UIS systemwide maintenance and unplanned outages — advance notice for scheduled maintenance windows, plus real-time updates if something goes down unexpectedly.

If you're an IT professional whose work might be affected during non-production maintenance windows, there's a separate option for those alerts on the form.

Building emergency and weather closure alerts

Who this is for: CU System Administration employees

Sign up for text alerts about 1800 Grant building emergencies and System Administration weather closures. Since CU System Administration follows CU Denver's weather closure schedule, any delay or closure notice issued for CU Denver applies to System Administration employees.

Open Enrollment text reminders

Who this is for: All benefits-eligible CU employees

Sign up to get brief text reminders during CU's annual Open Enrollment period (typically late April) so you don't miss important deadlines before enrollment closes.

Important: This is a separate sign-up. Even if you're already enrolled in weather closure or UIS maintenance alerts, you'll need to opt into Open Enrollment reminders on their own.
