Interim Changes to Regent Policy 11.E.1 regarding vacation leave accruals [1]

May 20, 2020 by worsham@cu.edu [2]

The Board of Regents approved interim changes to Policy 11.E.1 regarding vacation leave accruals for university staff and twelve-month faculty for fiscal year 2020-21, effective May 19, 2020.

Typically, accrued vacation leave cannot exceed forty-four (44) days at fiscal year-end.  The interim changes would allow employees who have been unable to take vacation due to the COVID-19 public health emergency to accrue and carry forward more than forty-four (44) days of vacation leave - as of July 1, 2020 - if approved by their respective executive leadership (president for system administration employees, chancellor for campus employees, or designated delegates).

The interim changes to Policy 11.E.1 will be repealed without further action as of July 1, 2021.
