The Scribe: SGA passes resolution opposing PROSPER Act; Act cuts billions in financial aid, may hurt low-income students

The Student Government Association passed SR02: The PROSPER Act by a 12-0 unanimous vote at the March 15 senate meeting. In SR02, a student resolution composed by student government members, SGA aims to express their opposition to United States House Resolution 4508 – the PROSPER Act, which stands for Promoting Real Opportunity, Success and Prosperity through Education Reform Act.
