Grand Junction Sentinel: Tobacco-tax surge makes state ballot - Measure would more than triple levy, benefit research, mental health efforts

“Increasing the cigarette tax is a triple win for Colorado, and especially for our children,” said Dr. Chris Stille, a pediatrician at Children’s Hospital Colorado on behalf of the main group pushing it, Campaign for a Healthy Colorado. “Passing this measure will save lives. It will stop tobacco companies from getting more kids addicted, and it will make a historic investment in health care programs and medical research to help Coloradans most affected by smoking.”
