CU Denver touts biggest, most diverse student body ever

DENVER – The University of Colorado’s Denver campus is kicking off the academic year with the biggest and most diverse student body in the school’s history, university officials said.

In a news release Tuesday, CU Denver said its student body totals more than 14,000 students.

The incoming freshman class is especially diverse – officials estimate more than 55 percent of the class are students of color -- and Hispanic students now make up almost 20 percent of the total student body. Final tallies aren’t expected until sometime in September.

The number of international students enrolling at CU Denver also is up this year, officials said.
