CU Boulder to offer only undergraduate biomedical engineering degree in state

Undergraduates at the University of Colorado Boulder will be the first in the state to have access to a stand-alone biomedical engineering degree in fall 2020.

While other programs in Colorado have graduate degree options in the field, none have undergraduate options.

CU Boulder is differentiating itself by offering the undergraduate degree, Mark Rentschler, an associate professor in the engineering college who focuses on medical devices said. While not having that major wouldn’t necessarily hold students back, providing the option to study it from the start will give them a leg up.
