Take note of annual year-end payroll deadlines and procedures

Before you take off for the holidays, take care of these tasks to enjoy a stress-free vacation. 

Year-end deadlines

5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21: Biweekly time collection closes (last biweekly pay period in 2016)
This deadline is for the pay date ending on Saturday, Dec. 17. These employees will receive their pay Friday, Dec. 30.

5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27: Last 2016 time collection period for the off-cycle pay period (Pay run ID OC122216)
This is the last off-cycle pay period of 2016. Payday for this off-cycle will be Friday, Dec. 30.

9 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29: Hand-drawn requests due to Employee Services for 2016 business
If you meet this hand-drawn request deadline, affected employees will receive the pay in question on Friday, Jan. 6, and it will be included in 2016 transactions. Any hand-drawn requests submitted after this deadline will be paid as 2017 taxable income. 

Noon Thursday, Dec. 29: Term for cause submissions due to Employee Services
If you have—or know you will have—a term for cause in your department, submit the appropriate paperwork to Employee Services by this deadline to ensure final pay will be issued on time.

New payroll calendars available

Updated 2017 payroll calendars are also now available on the ES website to plan ahead for next year.
