HCM project team progresses through upgrades, testing, training and more
We’ve come a long way in our nearly two-year journey to launching CU’s new Human Capital Management tool. Here’s where we’ve been and where we’re going:
We completed another data conversion, aka, Test Move 2. As part of this process, we upgraded to PeopleSoft Upgrade Manager (PUM) 11, which:
- applies patches, fixes and new technology to the system.
- applies changes to customizations that ensure they fit with the rest of the system.
We hit some rough patches along the way that set us back, but we’ve been working hard to stay on track and continuing testing.
We kicked off phase one of our systems integration testing (SIT).
We also announced our summer and fall HCM Campus Workshop schedule. Sessions kicked off on July 7; we encourage you all to register!
Starting this month, and running through September, we’re working with campus-identified testers to run hands-on training sessions that allow these participants to explore and test prominent new features. Testers will provide feedback on such features as transaction pages, which will replace the multi-page, data-entry process you currently know all too well. Come this fall, we'll open structured and open labs to all future users of HCM so everyone is well-prepared for the November launch.
- We’ll review configurations, including action reason codes, workflow, earnings codes, account ChartFields and mappings.
- We’ll demo the new system so you can see how things work.
We want your feedback! Email us about your HCM workshop, training or other experiences at email@example.com. We’ll also be posting project documents, notes and news on the Elevate website, www.cu.edu/elevate.
