CU names chancellor finalists for Colorado Springs campus

DENVER - University of Colorado President Bruce D. Benson today named three finalists for chancellor of the institution’s Colorado Springs campus. They will visit campus beginning next week for a series of meetings with internal and external groups in the UCCS community.

They are:

Johnson

Michelle Johnson
Lt. Gen. Michelle D. Johnson, superintendent of the United States Air Force Academy
Reddy

Venkat Reddy
Dr. Venkat Reddy, dean of the College of Business Administration and associate vice chancellor for online initiatives. Reddy has served as interim chancellor at UCCS since February.
Rodriguez

Havidán Rodríguez
Dr. Havidán Rodríguez, founding provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.

“We have three strong leaders who are looking to advance UCCS by building on an already solid foundation,” Benson said. “We look forward to great discussions in the coming days about the future of the campus.”

The next chancellor will replace Pam Shockley-Zalabak, who led the campus for 14 years and served it for 42 total.

Benson said after the candidates visit UCCS and he receives feedback from the university community, he expects to select the chancellor in the coming weeks.
