Life Insurance

The university pays for basic life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance for only its eligible employees. It also offers voluntary options, also for those who are eligible to elect them.

CU life insurance policies are available from The Standard Life Insurance Company and from the Public Employees' Retirement Association (PERA). You may elect coverage when you're first hired. You also may change your basic term life insurance, voluntary accidental death and dismemberment insurance and PERA optional life insurance during CU's annual Open Enrollment period each spring.

Eligible employees and retirees may add CU's optional life insurance coverage at any time, but to do so, they must submit a Medical History Statement Form to The Standard Insurance Company and be approved to receive this additional coverage. Learn more by selecting the appropriate link below.
