Tuition Waiver Benefit, CU Denver/Anschutz

Current Status of Fall 2017 Tuition Waiver

We are currently verifying course eligibility and will send e-mail notifications to employees shortly. Please contact the Bursar's Office of the campus either you or your dependent(s) are attending for all billing questions.

Ready to use the Tuition Waiver Benefit?

To ensure enough time for processing, aim for the target dates. 

Step 1: Apply to CU Denver/CU Anschutz before the semester begins

 

Denver Campus: Contact Admissions for application details and deadlines.

 Anschutz Medical Campus: Contact your school or college for complete application details and deadlines.

  • If you are taking classes informally, complete the non-degree application.
  • If you want to take classes toward a specific degree, complete the degree application.
  • Apply at least two weeks before the semester begins to ensure you can use the tuition waiver benefit.
  • Employees/Dependents must apply as a student on the campus of the course.

Step 2: Submit the tuition waiver benefit form

Step 3: Register for your courses

 

 Deadline: Aug. 21, 2017

  • Employees may not enroll in undergraduate or graduate courses before the published start date of the course(s) in question.
  • Dependents can enroll prior to the first day of the course.
  • If a course is not listed on your Tuition Waiver Benefit Form, you must submit a new form, and all courses must be verified. ( See step 6 below).
  • Denver Campus: New or readmitted students must pay a $200 Registration Advance Payment before registering. Applying for FAFSA removes the $200 Registration Advance Payment as an enrollment requirement. 

Step 4: Apply for the College Opportunity Fund

 

 Application Deadline: Sept. 30, 2017

  • If you or your dependent is taking undergraduate courses, apply for the College Opportunity Fund (COF).
  • Please note: If COF funds are available to you or your dependent, but you did not use them, you will be responsible for the tuition amount that would have been covered by COF.

Step 5: Pay fees and non-waived tuition

 

 Dependent Deadline: Sept. 8, 2017

 Employee Deadline: Sept. 30, 2017


Step 6: Resubmit Tuition Waiver Benefit Form for new courses, if necessary

 

 Deadline: Sept. 6, 2017

  • If the courses you originally requested were full, you can resubmit the Tuition Waiver Benefit Form to Employee Services with a list of new courses.

Step 3: Register for your courses

 

Maymester: Starting May 15, 2017

Summer Semester: Starting June 5, 2017

  • Employees may enroll in courses the first day of the semester. 
  • Dependents may enroll in courses prior to the first day of the semester.
  • Denver Campus: New or readmitted students must pay a $200 Registration Advance Payment before registering. Applying for FAFSA removes the $200 Registration Advance Payment as an enrollment requirement.
  • Please refer to the academic calendar's add/drop course deadlines.

  • If the courses you originally requested were full, you can resubmit the Tuition Waiver Benefit Form to Employee Services with a list of new courses by the deadline listed above.
