CAN-SPAM is a big deal. According to this federal law, CU (as a systemwide entity) must honor all email preferences. This means that if Johnny Appleseed opts out of receiving emails from CU, the next email that goes out better not go to Mr. Appleseed. If you're using eComm, you don't have anything to worry about.
