Share Skillsoft with CU students and student employees

Over the summer, Skillsoft upgraded and expanded access to all CU students. Previously, this learning system's 4,000 courses, instructor-led training, 25,500 books, job aids and videos were only available to faculty and staff.

The modernized interface now allows you to share and assign resources to students, classes and student employees. While Skillsoft courses may not be taken for credit, they may be taken as part of in-class assignments and used to help develop professional skills.

Share courses and assets with students

To direct students to a course or asset, provide the course name or ID. Then, students can log on to Skillsoft and search for the resource.

To find a course name or ID, follow these steps:

  • Log on to Skillsoft via the portal and search for a topic with the Search Content box
  • Select a tab (examples include Custom, Courses, ILT, or Books).
  • Click the title of a course or asset.
  • Select the About tab.
  • Find the Library ID at the bottom of the page, and share the Library ID with your students. They will enter the Library ID into the Search Content box in Skillsoft to locate and complete the correct asset.

To prove a task was completed, students can provide a Certificate of Completion or a screenshot of their Learning Transcript.
