Toby Lutz and Jill Ibeck present at 2017 Oracle Open World

Toby Lutz, Assistant Director of HCM Systems, and Jill Ibeck, Director of HCM Systems, presented on last summer's HCM Fluid upgrade at Oracle OpenWorld 2017. Fluid is PeopleSoft's responsive design for its systems.

Oracle OpenWorld is a weeklong IT conference in San Francisco with over 100,000 participants from around the world. Each session, with over 100 attendees per session, covers topics ranging from IT infrastructure to intelligent cloud platforms. Each year, PeopleSoft celebrates its customers' successes and presents them as a model for how customers can use PeopleSoft in the real world for user engagement.

Lutz primarily hosted the session "Succeed with PeopleSoft Fluid User Interface" in collaboration with Oracle and MIPRO Counsulting, LLC representatives. Ibeck supplemented Lutz's presentation by providing the audience a high-level strategy for CU's Fluid User Interface rollout. Then, Lutz presented a live demo of the Fluid HCM system to showcase the implementation and final product of the Fluid upgrade and the usage of configuration components to the audience. Milap Sharma, Director of Enterprise Applications, was invited as part of the team but was unable to attend.

The University of Colorado was recognized as a PeopleSoft Innovator. According to the Oracle website, the "University of Colorado is recognized for deploying the Fluid user interface including their progressive work with PeopleTools to configure the solution for their requirements, theme builder to create rich branding, the use of Interaction Hub for search, notifications, content management, and the use of Elasticsearch."

Ibeck, Lutz, Chris Toomer, Bob Hasenhundl, David Williams, Jason Armbruster, Gaurav Dixit, Renato Cayuela and the CU Resources working group are credited for their support of CU being a PeopleSoft Innovator.

CU's Fluid interface was featured throughout several sessions as a working example of Oracle system implementation for a compelling user experience.

"Not only is presenting this year the reward, but just attending and seeing our work throughout the sessions is rewarding," Lutz said.
