We have some updates on payroll encumbrances for this month … as well as procedural information about the new (with FIN 9.2) fiscal year-end adjustment periods.
We’ve shifted some of the fiscal year-end close dates to allow extended processing for Payroll Expense Transfers (PETs).
We've gathered together your online resources for Fiscal Year-End 2016.
On the Finance System Calendars tab at www.cu.edu/controller/finance/, you’ll now find two options under the listing, “FY 2014 Year-End Calendar.” You can keep track of all the fiscal year-end deadlines by using the traditional Excel Year-End calendar. In addition, the popular Google Year-End Calendar format from last year has returned for FY 2014.
It’s back:Your guide to FYE do’s and dates. Handily separated out by topic and timeframe, the InfoPacket provides processing details for assuring appropriate payment or accrual to FY 2014. New this year: expanded detail on what you should expect to see on your financial statements.
We've reached a turning point: the external audit is now officially over. And this year the process was marked by a singular event: no questions from the State on our J-Rec.
The Office of University Controller (OUC) will be visiting each campus during the week of Oct 7-11 for this year's OUC Town Halls. Through our annual Town Hall sessions, we can share news on OUC activities and directions...hear your thoughts and suggestions about how to better serve you...and continue to promote transparency and accountability in all that we do. For a schedule of campus Town Halls, and to register, go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ouctownhalls
The OUC sends out its thanks to the campus controllers’ offices and to all the organizational units who contributed to a successful year-end close for FY 2013.  Now we’ve moved on to the next phase. Our external auditors, CliftonLarsonAllen, are currently onsite for final fieldwork and will issue their report to the State Auditor’s Office later this fall. The University's Annual Financial Report for FY 2013 will be available on the OUC website in December.
We're there! The 3rd and FINAL close process for June 2013 is scheduled to run today (Friday, July 19).
Do you like being shadowed? Many of our callers to the Finance & Procurement Help Desk would like the FinProHelp Consultants to shadow them -- in other words, to look directly at their screens as the Consultants answer technical or procedural questions. Good news in time for fiscal year-end: We'll be implementing a new (and better) shadowing tool later this month. Look for the announcement in a future OUC blog posting.
